Our Grandfather: Levon Grundvig

On June 17th 2010 Gardell and I went to Price to pick up Grandma and Grandpa Grundvig to have dinner with them and Gail and Loretta at the Chuck-A-Rama in Provo. We really had a nice day. Grandpa wasn't feeling really well so he ask Gail and Gardell to give him a blessing. We called around to different family members in the area to see if we could go to their home but could not find anyone. They ended up doing it in the truck. Worked out great. Grandpa wanted to get the suit we had given him a couple of years ago. We went to Mr. Mac and got that done. Then we headed off back to Price and then home

The next day the 18th Grandpa was not feeling good so Grandma and Grandpa decided to go to the hospital and get him checked over. They said he was in good health and when they received the cat scan back they found he had cancer. What a shock to all of us. He had kept his body in good shape. We were sad.

Sunday the 20th we went down for Fathers Day and enjoyed that day with him. They had an appointment Wednesday for an exam and the doctor moved it up to that day (Monday the 19th). They had him get a lung bi-opy on Thursday June 24th. The next week he went into the Huntsman Instutite in Provo that following week July 2nd. They decided to have him start kimo the following week on the 9th. Gardell went down and helped him and Loraina and Grandma if any thing went wrong. On Saturday the 10th Lisa and I road down and visited. Blaike and Austin really enjoyed the visit. By that afternoon Grandpa was feeling good. He was wanting to eat and with all his restrictions I am quit sure he was frustrated. He did get the watermelon he wanted. Gardell wanted to come home but we knew he needed to stay. So Lisa, the boys and myself took off. Sunday morning we woke up and I received a call for Gardell and I called down to let him know and Grandpa was passing away. My heart was so sad. Me and Lisa hurried as fast as we could to get down to Price but didn't make it. I was so sad. My heart was broken. He was really good to me. As I left Saturday Grandpa gave me a big hug and not knowing what was going to happen I didn't take time to enjoy the moment. It come and went. So now I have no more Grandpa's to hug me. The viewing was on Wednesday July 13th and the funeral was the 14th. I was asked to lead the music. It was a privilege. Now I would like to share the memories from the funeral. He was a "Special Man".
